RE: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.

Professor- are your batteries in that black box to the right? If so, I like that- easy access for maintenance (water, etc)- If you have any pics of the steps you used to install such a box and the batteries within, I would be interested. It is such a royal pain to check water level in our battery, it's recessed down with a cover with 4-6 bolts.
Thank you.

RE: 500GB external hard drive a good bet to store pictures?

Remember, drives *do* crash- have removable media in 2 different physical locations. I keep DVD/CD backups at work in my desk drawer.
I've had at least 3 hard drive crashes over the years, 2 were within a month of each other, and I thought I was protected having 2 external drives. Luckily, I had made CD and DVD backups as well.

RE: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.

I just got my Champion 3500 from Cabela's this afternoon. What is the correct oil level? I added the correct .6 L (or about half a quart) of oil as stated in the instruction manual and it's leaking out all over the floor. The generator is level. Is this normal? Is is possible there was some oil already in the generator from the factory. The box was still factory sealed when I received it.
I had the same happen when I added oil, I just capped it off before too much came out. Note that I stopped adding oil once it started coming back out- I figured there may have been some in there, and I also figured it was full enough if the oil started to come back out.

RE: New Tires for a 5th Wheeler

It's threads like this that confirms our decision to put the Ribs on, even though we needed to replace the wheels and raise the trailer-
Good luck in your tire replacement efforts.

RE: bicycle and generator mount

How much weight you got there? Will the frame take the weight?
I would keep a eye on your slide & if you start having any problem with it I would get that weight off the back.
red
What impact does the weight have on the slide? I don't see the relationship, please enlighten me.

I see only 2 receiver tubes, 1 center, 1 on driver side, why not the third?

RE: bicycle and generator mount

I'm on the same track as you- planning on a triple receiver setup- It's hard for me to see the cross piece that your receiver tubes are welded to- is it the piece running along the back side of the bumper?

RE: bicycles

Think we are going to get this rack so we can use in any 2" receiver hitch. Will probably add a front receiver hitch to the truck, and I am planning on having a triple tube cargo carrier for the rear of the FW by modifying a single tube cargo rack and having custom welding for 3 receivers on the FW.

RE: Home built HD antenna beats the snot out of my BatWIng

Put together the same antenna, works great, had it in my attic in an area where I have yet to install radiant barrier. Being I'm eventually going to finish the radiant barrier install (I'm about 70% done), I've decided on an outdoor antenna. I did not want to put this home built outside (eventual rust and home built appearance), so I bought this one from monoprice.com. This little antenna works great, and is small enough to attach to the FW batwing as well. Monoprice is a great place to purchase anything for home theater, cabling, TV mounting, etc. Bought a mount for the small LCD in the FW bedroom, but haven't installed it yet.

RE: Fall Rally for GA'RVers at Twin Oaks RV Resort, Nov 14, 2008

Say hi to all for us-
Unfortunately, we couldn't make it- Candy is working full time now, and it's not good to ask for time off after just being hired.
But, if pork chops were on the menu.....
Have fun!

RE: BUT WAIT ........ There's more (VuQube)

I gotta agree. Align-a-site works great. I mounted my dish on the a Bullseye mount. The combo is terrific.
We have the same- in addition, I peak with a screamer meter on the other LNB output where a 3' coax dangles for that purpose.

RE: Carrier on Backend for generator

I'm in the process of having 3 each 2.25" receiver tubes welded to the frame under the rear of the FW, I've seen plenty of cargo carriers on other vehicles that don't seem to be too steady, a lot kind of move back and forth- Bought a 22 x 60" cargo carrier from TSC, and will add 2 more 2x2 receiver inserts to make a total of 3. I'll post pictures when finished-

RE: We have a tripod mounted Dish 500 with Dual LNB

Dishnetwork DVR's have 2 receivers and 2 outputs IIRC. and thus you need TWO cables one for each receiver. ...
This is not exactly true. 2 receivers I agree, two inputs, I agree, but only 1 cable from the antenna is needed (either port). I have DPP 500 antenna (dual LNB) with 1 cable feeding a separator at the rear of our dual tuner receivers (either a 322, 625, etc). Works just fine.
